Legal
Terms
Last updated 4 November 2026
Draft for approval. Written from Piano's packages and prices for the owner to approve, ideally with a lawyer. Marked to confirm where a fact is still open.
These terms are the agreement between your business and Intelligence Arts Ltd for Piano. By setting up a restaurant on Piano, you accept them.
1. Who and what
Intelligence Arts Ltd, a company registered in Mauritius to confirm: business registration number and registered office (“we”), provides Piano to your business (“you”): the till, an app for Windows; the kitchen screens, web pages that run on your tablets; and Piano Cloud, where you manage your restaurants from a browser.
2. Your plan and your price
- Each restaurant is on a plan, Counter or Full, at the monthly price shown on pianoros.com on the day you start.
- Every restaurant includes two tills. Each till from the third is billed every month at the extra-till price shown on the same page.
- In the United Arab Emirates, prices are in dirhams and no VAT is added: we invoice from Mauritius. In Mauritius, prices are in rupees, plus VAT at 15%.
- We take no fee on your sales.
- We tell you at least 30 days to confirm before your price changes.
3. The free month
Your first month with each new restaurant is free. Billing starts when it ends, unless you stop before.
4. Paying
We bill each restaurant every month to confirm: at the start or the end of the month, by card to confirm: the payment provider. If a payment fails, Piano Cloud may become read-only until it is paid. The till keeps selling and printing receipts: it is never blocked.
5. Stopping
You can stop any month; no contract is longer than a month. Write to [email protected]. Piano runs until the end of the month already paid to confirm: no refund for a part month. What happens to your data when you stop: to confirm.
6. Your data
Your menus, prices, sales and records are yours. We use them only to run Piano for you and to support you. Our Privacy page says what personal data Piano holds, where and for how long.
7. What you look after
- Your hardware and your internet line: a Windows PC for the till and the tablets for the kitchen screens.
- Your menu, your prices, your tax settings and the legal details printed on your receipts.
- Your own tax and legal obligations. Piano prints receipts and keeps records; it does not file anything on your behalf.
- The sign-ins and PINs you give your staff, and closing the account of someone who leaves.
8. Fair use
Use Piano to run your restaurants. Do not resell it, copy or take it apart, try to get around its security, or use it to break the law.
9. What we look after
- We keep Piano Cloud running and backed up every day. The till works without the internet and catches up with the cloud when the line comes back.
- We improve Piano over time. The till offers each update when it is ready. Features shown as Coming soon or On the roadmap are plans, not promises of a date.
- We answer by email at [email protected]. You never have to call us.
10. Responsibility
We build Piano with care, but no software is free of every fault. As far as the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it, and we are not responsible for indirect losses such as lost profit or lost sales. Nothing here limits a responsibility the law does not allow us to limit.
11. Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes and we tell you by email at least 30 days to confirm before the change applies. If you do not agree, you can stop before it does.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Mauritius, and the courts of Mauritius decide any dispute to confirm with a lawyer.
13. This website
The prices and features on pianoros.com may change. The partners' names and logos belong to their owners and appear with their agreement.
